I dont watch videos of cops killing African Americans

I don’t watch videos of American cops killing anyone but certainly not African people and especially men

no need to go into the history of policing then. slave catchers. to the history of police now. trigger happy psycho killers in a system that thrives on violence and rarely punishes the killers

we’ve all…and when i say we i mean black males. we’ve all had near fatal, violent, crazy encounters with cops. i myself had several physical encounters with american cops in my roaring 20s. i’ve been pulled over in excess of 100 times. that’s not a typo HUNDREDS of times. i’ve been stopped, searched, frisked, shaken down, kicked, punched, detained twice and put in jail once for an unpaid traffic ticket after having guns pulled on me.

I’ve received about 5 traffic citations from all those encounters.

i dont have children, so there’s less for me to worry about on a day to day basis. I know almost every black person with children has lived through terror thinking what if?

and if you think profiling isnt real harassment or that Blacks arent traumatized daily for just being you are delusional

i’ve never robbed, raped, molested, committed fraud, never shot anyone, never stolen anything etc etc but in America I am a Black man of which i am fully aware. this comes with a long list of possibilities others dont have to worry about. black women have similar tales of horror

my fist encounter with cops and guns i was 19 years old. went to a pizza hut with some friends and the lady took our order our money went inside and disappeared. she came back out when the cops arrived.
she called 911 cause according to her over 10 years prior some black males robbed a pizza hut or some nonsense of the sort. she saw us and thought robbery.

the cops said they remembered the incident and forced us outside and up against a wall outside hands on gun. it was about 9pm. we had a scuffle cause my attitude was fuck you all and fuck this and it didnt help that i had no clue what “assume the position” meant

my African american colleagues thought i knew what to do cause they did and the cops thought whatever they were thinking.
after a scuffle and what seemed like an eternity we were free again. i demanded my money back and she offered us free pizza. i refused. smith took one for which i have never forgiven him

that was 1994. before internet, smart phones and facebook. wauwatosa, wisconsin. google it. it’s a real city
my last encounter with a cop and gun was approximately 8 weeks ago at a grocery store checkout
according to the cop, he saw me stole something

I cant recall how I got there but many years ago I stopped watching those beatings and shootings. It does things to your inner being that many will never recover from.

a thought…If the family of Africans killed by police hired hitmen am certain a biblical quote would start trending.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

Yea, sweet baby jesus

Don’t just die, die in dignity riding that high road and reap your rewards up in heaven
as they wash your blood down the drain with a firehose…

Which brings me to Claude McKay, Harlem 1919. McKay was a poet from Jamaica and wrote a poem called If we must die! Ironically it was about white mob violence against Blacks and it was published in a paper called The Liberator

If we must die, let it be not like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,
Making their mock at our accursed lot.
If we must die, O let us nobly die,
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain; then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honor us though dead!
O kinsmen! we must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave
And for their thousand blows deal one deathblow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we’ll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!

Africans in America are still targeted and victimised by a society that has not yet acknowledged it’s blood tainted history. Many of us unfortunately are still tuned into their frequencies, singing and dancing to their music.

Might sound simple but change the beat and watch magic happen.
