Guyana Chronicle: FORMER policeman and self-professed former death squad member Sean Hinds was yesterday arrested in connection with an ongoing murder probe.The Guyana Chronicle was informed that Hinds is being grilled by ranks of the Major Crimes Unit in connection with the murder of rights activist Courtney Crum-Ewing which took place last year in the lead up to the May 11 general elections.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed yesterday to this publication that Hinds is again in police custody. The Senior Superintendent also disclosed that this latest arrest is in connection with a murder investigation.
However, Blanhum declined to confirm whether the murder took place this year or last year or if indeed the probe is in connection with the execution style killing of former Guyana Defence Force Lieutenant and Queen’s College student Courtney Crum-Ewing.
Sources close to Hinds have since indicated to the Guyana Chronicle that Hinds is indeed being grilled over the murder of Crum-Ewing. He was picked up from his North Ruimveldt home yesterday morning by the police and taken to the Criminal Investigation Headquarters.
