lo and behold one month later bharrat jagdeo now defeated politically still refused to show
his high powered legal team was now down to perry gossai and one of the amayah boys
Gossai was beligersnt from the get go arguing that his client was never served
When questioned as to who he spoke to, gossai revealed he has never spoken to jagdeo on the matter. He is taking orders from dos santos
From the first day dos santos declared in court that he never spoke to jagdeo either. He said he was being instructed by unnamed forces
Gossai submissions were overruled and fhe magistrate about 930 said she would honour team ram’s request for an arrest warrant to be issued
Jagdeo was given 30 minutes to appear
A flurry of phone calls began
Time expired and gossai returned to court to say “they are stuck at berbice bridge” which was open for river traffic and he wanted more time
To strenuous objections the magistrate gave jagdeo one more hour to show
More phone diplomacy and panic
About 1045 bernard dos santos showed up. Followed shortly by anil nandlall
At 11am dos santos stood and told the court in contradiction to gossai’s earlier statement that jagdeo was now at #19 village west coast berbice and they needed even more time
by now the magistrate said she was more interested in jagdeo’s appearance than issuing an arrest warrant
she gave team jagdeo till close of business for him to appear
He subsequently arrived like a rock star and first shook hands and high fived his crazy ppp supporters in the streets
He hesitantly entered the court and positioned himself in the box
