today in Guyana – no mark jacobs listed as defendant in kangaroo court

5th june 2014 warehoused in brickdam station gulag with the other african captives. my ‘lawyer’ mark benschop arrived and they decided they no longer wanted to charge me. that’s the flaw at work

so i got stood up! rearranged my life for dis date with fools & nothing happened. they stood me up!
what shizzy game are you paying with me corporal so and so?
to begin with i jaywalked across the road to court by accident 🙂
seriously. this was an accident
rain was about to fall & i didn’t want to mess up my jheri curls
i made it to 9AM court about 905AM which was about 20 minutes before the magistrate
a quick check with the court orderly [i think that’s her title] revealed that there was no mark jacobs listed as defendant for jay walking or anything else. and she doesn’t know what happened tuesday cause she didnt have nothing on record for a mark jacobs on that date either
i have no choice at this time but to trust the words of these people hahaha my lawyer [pro bono] was there and said not to worry as they have to come better next time if they want to go ahead with this matter

the day didnt look like it was going to start too well cause i was panicking i was going to be ate and miss my date. then i realized i forgot my phone in the bus after i reached the court. i couldn’t remember what the bus looked like. strike one. and wasnt so sure i could remember what the driver looked like. strike two.
as god would have it, i found him hanging out with some other drivers chatting. the bus was in the park empty and my phone sitting right where i left it on the front seat
the driver seemed amazed and gave me a puzzing look

you is a lucky man bai. watch it deh right hey.

dat restored my faith in my fellow Guyanese for a hot minute. but we still lawless
actually more lawless than you thinketh

a couple guys were screaming to me as i re-entered the court. after being checked for drugs and weapons by the police at the gate again
one guy i recognized as part of a crew that roughed me up and arrested me last time i was in this same building
i ignored him at first but then went over to the fence passing back
come out leh we talk
talk about what? talk to me thru the fence right here
here wuh, yuh ain got a case in deh right?
yes
so wuh yuh going in for?
why? i goin in to see wuh goin on
but yuh ain got to go in
but i want go in

you could make the court jacket disappear for $3000?
he laughs
like yuh ain hear wuh ah tellin yuh rastaman
he has about three other employees i guess you can call them on the pave with him all doing the same thing to people passing into the court. this is their area of operation
hmmm well i want go in fuh dis one
a’rite but ah tellin yuh i can mek it disappear. cause it might cost you five, seven maybe ten thousand if yuh go in deh
here wuh, i wont use your services today but write your number down on this paper. i might need you in the future
he laughs and writes his tele down on the front page of my kaieteur news

a guy talking to the lady in the guard hut called me over as well
you is not the man dat they hold coming out de wedding?
yea dat wuz me. why?
well i deh hey tellin she you look like de man dat de get hold wid we
ok

no i ain see nobody yet
he musse ain comin
probably not
well i goin in and see wuh gon happen
good question
i ask the police and se seh at least seven to ten thousand
hmm ok
but i ain got dem type uh money. i going an te,ell the magistrate me ain got dem type of money fuh pay nuttin. i ain get pay yet

i wanted to go back in and see what happened to him, but it was getting more and more depressing being in or around this house of injustice. where the poor are constantly being warehoused and disposed of into gulags of demockery. i kept thinking to go back and see what would happen to him and all the other poor people packig in the benches. i saw a family member rush in after his name was called
the magistrate told him to come back a couple weeks from now as some file from the police was missing
i left with thoughts of the only solution
yes. that would be revolution

we be field negroes
waiting for an invitation
a chance
or the right moment
to come up to the big house

run tell dat
i said it dot com
