forget the big indicators in this disastre called Guyana. little things indicate why runaway train to nowhere country is devolving into nothing ness
when i was a kid in the roaring 80s Guyana Stores was a NATIONAL all in one dept type store.
you’d walk through the doors from main st [cenotaph side] and out to the water st area and window shop. it was magical 🙂
the main and water sts. branches are a few rungs below a low down dutty swap meet / garage sale in the deep south. shit knick knacks and rubbish no one seems to be buying piled high and ketchin dust.
taking the same walk now is suspended reality through a horrific crime scene
at water street you have to literally climb over roraima high piles of junk and rubbish items piled here there and everywhere
in a stupor i once bought a spray can here on a friday. it stopped working saturday
tuesday when i returned they didnt even quarrel, just smiled and replaced it
and the lady actually said, yea in between they got plenty that ain good
the new owners & their former friends in the govt are caught up in a long racket case in the courts as to who robbed who when they stole Guyana Stores from the people
back in those days when Guyana Stores was a national icon i forgot to mention, Burnaham was ALIVE!
you can try but he wont go away, there he is and will always be
dancing on the rearview of your mind reminding you of a time that once was
they keep telling you they’ve done better conquering dictatorship and returning democracy
well if this is!
just don’t let the facts get in your way
run tell dat
i said it do com
