“If Government drops the amount to a realistic $40-50 billion, I am inclined to support the Amaila Falls project. This country has long wanted to build a hydro-project. We have the resources. But we always say it’s too expensive. I would support the project. Once the Inter-American Development Bank gives the green light for it, as then I would be sure of the technical soundness of the project, I would support it.

As a result of this clear attempt to tarnish the name of the AFC and its publicly stated positions on the Amaila Falls Hydro project I have today offered my resignation as Chairman to the Alliance for Change.
